Welcome to Next Big Thing Publishing! This site is the result of multiple past attempts at building a brand around my writing and board game hobbies. As I build this page, I’m planning on taking a multifaceted approach using Twitch streaming, YouTube, Podcast, while also consistently blogging about my experiences, my wins, losses, etc. My hopes for this page is that that by the end of the first year, I’ll have completed one or two of my ongoing projects and be publishing them under this brand.

Hello, I’m Russell Nielsen

I am the founder and CEO of Next Big Thing Publishing (NBT). I founded NBT to create a space for me to eventually monetize and share my hobbies, creations, and passions with the world. Some of these passions include writing (blogs, novels, short stories, & soon children’s books) as well as designing, building, and playtesting board games.

Long term, after I get the publishing of a couple of my own projects completed, I am planning on opening up NBT to assist other independent authors and designers in their publishing journeys.
